Posted by Prince, on 10-10-2011 23:04, , Guest The 1st row (from left) front person is not a participant of the cutting process, but his cut head is used to replace the 4th row (from left) 1st person.    The right cut section cuts 6 people and 1 not cut person (4th row rear) and replaces on left cut section 4 people and 2 people from right cut section.    The left cut section cut 4 people (note the head cut of the 5th person) and replaces 5 people on the right cut section.    So 1st arrangement from left section (1 not cut + 4 cut) right (6 cut + 1 not cut) = 12  Then 2nd arrangement from left section (1 not cut + (6 cut+1 not cut) ) right (   Posted by Michael Lewis, on 17-03-2011 08:39, , Guest It took me a while, but I figured it out. VERY clever. Basically, everyone is "cut in half" at the time of the split, then they are all "put back together." Well, almost everyone. In the "13" version, the important people are the one in the lower left, and the "brand new" person in the middle (6th from the left). Number 6 lost the bottom of his feet, and they are never replaced. Number 1 lost the top of his head, and it is never replaced.
