Graet times.  
No Secuity corden. No poilcemen in sight. VIPs without bodyguards. People free to move around & mingle- simply dressed, with great expetations from freedom??? Age of cycles and tongas. Onslogh of polluting automobiles not even in the wildest dreams!! 
No hounding jurnalists, no TV crews no TRP competetion - you had to go and winess the events or wait for the News-reel in picture hall. 
Such photograps speak a thousand words....thanks for putting on net.

if i would have got to see the before and after pictures, it would have given more effect to this, new generation doesnt really know what India had to go through for this independence...Jai Hind
