The prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) award, which is owned and managed by the world-renowned Natural History Museum, adjudged its winners recently. However, the museum has selected 25 of the best images from the WPY 2019 competition shortlist. Those photographs have now been put online for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, LUMIX People’s Choice collection.

Wildlife photography awards present a great chance for conveying a strong message about nature and its vagaries. Here, we have selected some of the best photographs from the People’s Choice collection. These magnificent Caribbean flamingos were photographed in the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve in the state of Yucatán. The chick here is less than 5 days old and will stay in the nest for close to 6 days before it moves out to forage for food.
