The Rila mountain range is one of the tallest mountain ranges in Europe, and the tallest in the Balkan states. Most of it is part of Bulgaria’s Rila National Park.
Vitosha Mountain, found near the capital city of Sofia, is an extremely popular tourist spot, thanks to the many convenient paths one can take to get there. The mountain is full of hiking trails, mountain-climbing locations and ski slopes. The mountain is regarded as one of the national symbols of Bulgaria.

Concetto (meaning “Little Horse”) range, got its unique name due to the tendency of inexperienced climbers to sit on its edge, like you’d sit on a horse, and make their way very slowly across its length.
